Responsible for the collection of cash and management of risk primarily within Epay’s portfolio of customers. Dealing with a Multi-currency ledger. Ad-hoc accounting duties / support as and when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Credit Control Function
- Timely cash collection from retailers via phone, email, etc
- Manage and own responsibility for company’s credit exposure for retailers, proposing solutions to manage exposure to Credit Manager and Head of Finance
- Manage and own responsibility for credit limits and current exposure, to keep within approved maximum Exposure on weekly/daily basis
- Aged debtor reporting with ledger reviews 1-2 times a week, various payment terms for weekly, biweekly and monthly raised invoices
- Reconcile queried/disputed transactions on retailers’ accounts to resume collection of cash
- Liaise with internal and external staff, explaining Company Exposure and Debt on biweekly calls with Managing Director and Finance Director.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant company standards, processes, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring documenting, training to ensure full holiday cover
- Working with external agencies such as credit insurance, credit check providers and other business information providers
- Managing the Credit Insurance of existing and new retailers, to review and manage companies risks whilst minimising unnecessary cost.
- Preparing of monthly Bad Debt provision, Top 20 debtors, and reconciliation of Deposit accounts
- Prepare Refunds and Write offs with full back up, for approval by Credit Manager
Reporting
- Weekly & Monthly reporting of debtors
- Manage Exposure reflecting this on Master Exposure File
- Work with the Credit Manager to produce and distribute informative reports to key business stakeholders
Other
- Assist the Credit Manager in driving improvements and efficiencies in the department and wider EMEA region
- Other duties, special projects, and special reporting as assigned.
- Ad hoc take ownership of role proactively resolving core issues to ensure smooth running keeping Manager informed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent English Speaking and writing – other languages French or Turkish advantageous
- Minimum of 4 years experience within credit control
- Understanding of accounting ledgers and reconciliations
- Works well within a team or on an individual basis.
- Experience of business information providers (Credit insurance, Credit checks)
- Self-Motivated
